Ingredients:
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Water
1 Inch Piece Ginger, Cut Into Small Slices
- - Lemon Juice, Optional
- - Sparkling Water, Chilled
Preparation:
Put Water, Sugar And Ginger In A Small Saucepan.
Place The Saucepan Over Medium Heat And Bring To A Boil.
Cook Until Sugar Is Completely Dissolved, Stirring Occasionally, About 2 Minutes.
Remove From Heat And Cool To Room Temperature.
Place Crushed Ice In Tall Glasses, Spoon 2 Tablespoons Of Ginger Syrup And 1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice,
If Using. Fill The Glasses With Sparkling Water And Stir To Combine.
